Buddying

  • Fanatical about films?
  • Passionate about painting?
  • Wild about wildlife?

Whatever it is you love, we know someone who loves it too.

We need volunteers to support people with learning disabilities to do the things they enjoy – whether it’s bowling, swimming, watching sports or going out for a coffee. The list is endless…

Let us know what you’re interested in, and the chances are we’ll be able to match you with someone who shares your passion.

Your support will give your buddy the opportunity to gain confidence, independence and skills – all while doing something you both enjoy.

About buddying

You don’t need any qualifications or experience to be a volunteer buddy, just a positive attitude, empathy, patience and some free time.

We’ll provide all the support you need, and you will receive travel and out-of-pocket expenses for the time you spend with your buddy.

Steven’s story

Steven (not his real name) is an avid Sheffield Wednesday fan. Even though he has a season ticket, he could not always attend home games when support wasn’t available.

We found Steven a volunteer Match Day buddy, who is another Sheffield Wednesday fan. Now he can attend home games with someone who can share his same passion for football.
