Why volunteer with Hft
Our volunteers come from all walks of life and volunteer for lots of different reasons. All our volunteers have something in common - they help us to make a real difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities.
Volunteering for Hft can be rewarding in lots of ways.
Personal and career development
Volunteering is a great way to develop new skills, build your self-confidence, or help your career prospects.
Some of our volunteers come to us because they want to completely change direction in their careers and get experience of a new type of job.
Training and development
We provide on the job training for our volunteering roles. You may also have the opportunity to get a volunteering accreditation with schemes like the Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme.
Volunteering is great fun and a brilliant opportunity to meet new people.
