Hft Kent South gets a makeover
30 years on from their last renovation, the meeting areas at Kent South were in desperate need of a makeover.
The rooms are used for several functions, from meetings with families and care managers, to staff training and supervisions, so it’s important that they appear welcoming and professional.
Regional Cluster Manager Susan Misfud applied to Screwfix for a grant to go towards the renovation, and after a year’s wait, was delighted to receive a cheque for £2,000. Thanks to a huge discount from a local flooring store, Mulberry Carpets of Hythe, she and her team were able to purchase everything they needed to make the rooms look as good as new.
One of the people supported at the service took a break from dissembling bikes and took charge of putting the new furniture together instead. Between him and his support worker, all the rooms were painted to an expert standard within just a few days.
The whole team are proud of the final outcome, and are looking forward to welcoming visitors into their new and improved meeting rooms.
