In memory of Bill Peck
Hft is saddened to announce the recent death of former Chairman Bill Peck.
Bill had a long and distinguished association with Hft, which included holding the position of trustee for over forty years, five of which were as Chair (1989 – 1994).
Among many other achievements, Bill was responsible for authoring the ‘History of Hft’ book which charts Hft’s journey from its beginnings as the Home Farm Trust in the 1960s through to the 2000s.
In more recent years, Bill has maintained his involvement with Hft mainly through his role as Chair of the Extra Special Trust, which has provided many life-enhancing and in some cases life-changing grants to the people that Hft support.
Robert Longley-Cook, Hft's Chief Executive said “Bill has been an integral part of Hft and we shall miss his wisdom and commitment to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities. He was a forward-thinking Chair of Trustees during a period when the learning disability landscape was undergoing great change. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife and family.”
