Our work

Hft Leeds provides a range of support services for people with learning disabilities in and around Leeds. We support people in many different ways but with one common goal: to support them in living the life they choose.

Our work

Supported Living
Over the past few years Hft in Leeds has moved away from residential care. Each person we now support lives within their own tenancy in a supported living service.

Self-directed support (SDS) or individual budgets
Now individuals can request their own budgets so they can choose the service they want. Hft has become a preferred provider for this type of support.

Friendship
Hft’s friendship group Luv2meetU gives people with learning disabilities the opportunity to make new friends and try new activities in the Leeds area. You can find more details about Luv2meetU on the Luv2meetU website

Hum Tum is our friendship agency for people with learning disabilities from Asian communities in Leeds.

Run jointly by Luv2meetU and Asian Community organisation Hamara. Hum Tum offer activities such as Bollywood-themed nights, Henna painting evenings and male or female only events.

Luv2meetU runs alongside our Keeping In Touch initiative – a joint project with Leeds City Council providing social events for people around Leeds who have been using the Council’s day services.

Keeping In Touch allows people to maintain friendships made in their day centres. People can attend the activities they’d like to which include everything from meals out to cinema trips, theatre nights and bowling.

Members are invited to attend several events each month in order to catch up with their old friends. We can help members with transport to events if they are unable to travel independently.

Personalised technology
Hft in Leeds has become a centre of expertise in providing appropriate personalised technology to help people remain independent and safe.

Developing new services
Our team at Hft Leeds are exceptionally skilled at understanding what individuals and their families want from services. We can provide unique, individual, high quality support solutions.
