Our work

Hft Newcastle Area provides a range of support services for people with learning disabilities, including residential care and supported living.

Residential care
We can offer a specialist service to those with Prader-Willi Syndrome.

Supported living
Our supported living services provide individualised support to people with learning disabilities to live within the local community. Our support can be anything from just a few hours a week, right up to support on a daily basis.

Support with personal budgets
If you have a personal budget, let us know what you'd like to achieve with it and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Leisure activities
Our activities promote self-esteem and encourage people with learning disabilities to be involved in the wider community. We offer pottery, art, craft and horticulture activities, so there is something for everyone.

Saturday Club
For children and young adults, we operate Saturday Clubs based in the Ouseburn Community Centre. Activities include sports, cookery, crafts, dancing, music – and a popular tuck-shop.  There are two sessions to choose from; one for 8-15 year olds, and one for 15 to 25 year olds.

Contact Zoe or Laura on 0191 2131608 to find out more.

Travel training

We can provide training for people with learning disabilities who need help to be able to travel independently.
