At Hft we work in partnership with many diverse organisations, healthcare professionals and other people to deliver effective, high quality services to people with learning disabilities and their families.
We also work in partnership with individuals and their families, welcoming and valuing what they contribute to ensure that we provide the best possible support.
Government and care partners
We work closely with our local authority and local care management teams both day-to-day and on specific initiatives.
Partnerships with health organisations
We have forged important links with local GPs and pharmacies to provide effective healthcare services for the people we support.
Community and social partners
We work with several local partners to provide a range of different activities for the people we support. One example is the local nightclub ‘Scorch’ where we hold monthly nights out for people with learning disabilities and their friends.
Hft Hertfordshire & Essex have worked in partnership with and have been affiliated to Bishop’s Stortford Football Club since 2011. Over the years, the club has provided Hft United with football kits and access to tournament venues, as well as catering and venues for our various discos and talent shows. BSFC has, through funding from the Community Sports Program, also provided Level 1 FA Coach Training for three Hft Support Workers and one of the people we support who now proudly coaches his team. It is hoped that three more Support Workers and another of the people we support will be undertaking the Level 1 FA Coach Training this year.
Hft United (soon to be renamed The Hurricanes) take part in an Annual Bishop’s Stortford Inclusion Cup Final held at the ProkitUK Stadium. This is a local derby played against teams from St Elizabeth Centre for Epilepsy at Much Hadham and is the highlight of the season for many of the players and their families who are always excited to see their sons and daughters involved.
