We support people a number of people with learning disabilities in supported living accommodation around the area, either in their own homes or in shared accommodation.
There are plenty of different leisure activities in the local area for the people we support, including:
- Cinema trips
- Gym trips
- Social clubs
- Church groups
- Theatre trips
- Music Events
- Nights out at local nightclubs, including the “Groovy Gecko” club
Work and learning
Throughout Cambridgeshire, we provide work and training opportunities for people with learning disabilities. We also support a number of people to work or volunteer locally in a variety of roles.
We have a dedicated Supported Employment Advisor who is available to support anyone to expand their knowledge if needed and support them with their own employment goals.
Friendship and dating
We can support people to make new friends, get involved in new activities, go on a date and perhaps meet a boyfriend or girlfriend.
We can also support people to join local groups, for example, a local men’s group, where a group of lads get together to bond, build friendships and take part in a wide range of activities, from Laser Quest to fishing for Crayfish.
The people we support are actively involved in deciding what events we run, and in organising events. Some of our clubs and groups have been running for many years, which is only possible through their active involvement and support.
