Our work

Hft Cornwall offers a diverse range of support services for people with learning disabilities, including supported living, residential care, leisure activities and life skills training.

Our work

Supported living
We provide supported living services for people with learning disabilities to suit individual needs – whether support is needed for a few hours, or round the clock.

Residential care
For some of the people we support, residential services are the answer. We support people with higher support needs - including Autistic Spectrum disorder – at Wadebridge, St Teath, and St Austell in Cornwall.

Domiciliary care
We also deliver domiciliary care support to people in their own homes throughout Cornwall.

Leisure activities
At Wadebridge we have a resource centre running various leisure activities for people with learning disabilities including:

• Dance
• Music
• Crafts
• Swimming
• Cinema visits
• Horse riding

We also host events throughout the year, including Christmas Fayres, Summer Fetes and Comedy evenings.

Work and learning
At our Wadebridge resource centre, we also run a coffee van providing freshly made coffee and other refreshments to passers- by.

From St Austell we run the COAST project. COAST is a community mentoring course for people with learning disabilities aimed at improving and promoting independence. People we support learn about their local communities, travel, socialising, computers and other life skills subjects.

Short breaks and respite care
We offer flexible short breaks across Cornwall, either within our Short Break Centre in Launceston, or at home. We can also support people to go away on longer holidays.

Personalised Technology
Hft is a recognised UK leader in using Personalised Technology to support people's independence. Technology used might include electronic tablet dispensers - allowing people to safely control their medication; easy-use mobile phones so they can talk to friends and family, or epilepsy monitors to alert staff if someone has a seizure.

Hft Cornwall has extensive experience in using Personalised Technology to increase safety and independence for people with varying support needs.
